Non-RPG uses for Fudge dice?

Non-RPG uses for Fudge dice?

So I was thinking of a new boardgame, basically a non-binary variant on Hex. Each side's tokens would be positive, negative and neutral. Positive and negative in contact cancel each other and neutral in contact with a polarized token would flip to that value and the formerly charged piece goes neutral... I wonder what I could use for the prototype of that? current/wink

I had another idea for a different game. It'd be territory-acquisition (like Go/Baduk), but driven by randomized input. In this case, I was thinking of using an NdF roll to determine movements: + as drop, slide forward, or shift right. - as remove, slide backwards or shift left. Blanks would be nulls and have no move options.

I've not seen any other boardgames using dF in my research. Anyone heard of one?

Anyone have any other non-RPG gaming uses for dF?

Re: Non-RPG uses for Fudge dice?

Anything which uses a d6 dice pool system in which one counts 5s and 6s can be replaced by Fudge Dice where one counts +s. The exceptions are rules which distinguish between a 5 or 6 result.

The [-] die.
